Overview & Approach

The Farmers' Market at Lakewood Ranch began as a small evening market at the Polo Club before growing into a weekly tradition at Waterside Place. Today, it features more than 100 curated vendors offering farm fresh produce, prepared foods, handcrafted goods, and specialty items alongside live music and family friendly activities. In 2025, it was named the #1 Farmers’ Market in U.S. by the America’s Farmers Market Celebration (AFMC).

When the market relocated to Waterside Place, the goal was to build buzz well before opening day. A campaign built around cheeky veggie puns along with social engagement, signage, and printed communication — helped drive weekly attendance from 2,000 to 5,000 and grow the vendor count from 40 to over 90. Beyond the move, ongoing digital marketing kept the market's loyal following engaged while targeted email and social campaigns reached new audiences and showcased what makes this market a cut above the rest.

A Fresh Take on a Rebrand
The refreshed brand moved away from a rustic poster style aesthetic in favor of something brighter, more energetic, and rooted in the lively spirit of the market itself. A vibrant new color palette, refreshed logo, and approachable typography helped create a more recognizable and engaging brand experience inspired by the atmosphere of a sun-drenched Florida farmers market.

Beyond the Move and Into 1st Place
As ongoing digital and print marketing reached Market goers and new audiences, yearly voting campaigns became an important part of the mix — not just for the Market itself, but for the 100+ local farmers, makers, bakers, and small businesses behind the Market. With a growing vendor community and lifestyle programming that extended beyond a typical market experience, the Farmers' Market at Lakewood Ranch built a loyal following that showed up year after year, earning recognition from "Best Local Farmers' Market" to "#1 Farmers' Market in the U.S."
